NO SCHOOL:  FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13th – Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parents please note school will be closed on Friday, November 13th for parent/teacher conferences.  Conferences are not mandatory but are recommended if your student is having trouble in any of his/her academic areas.  Please use the link for the “Sign-up Genius” to schedule your appointment.

Thanksgiving break begins Tuesday, November 24th at 12:00 noon.  There is no aftercare on Tuesday the 24th.   Please be sure to make arrangements to pick up your child at 12:00 noon.  School will resume Monday, November 30th.   We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Pilgrim & Indian day will be Tuesday, November 24th.   Elementary students may dress as either a Pilgrim or an Indian.  (No weapons please!)  We will not be having a school-wide Thanksgiving chapel this year.

If GBS is closed or has a delayed opening, you can be notified the following ways:  School Cast messaging; our website; our phone messaging 410-761-1118 option 2 and option 2 again; and WBAL-TV Channel 11.

We are pleased to announce we will be having girls and boys varsity basketball this year.  All students 7th grade and up were given an information packet regarding our COVID-19 rules for basketball season.  Unfortunately, due to COVID-19,  home games will NOT be open to the public or visiting team fans for this season.  Only parents, grandparents and siblings of current GBS players will be permitted to attend home basketball games.  ALL fans will be temperature checked at the gate, must wear a mask and maintain social distancing during the games.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Let’s go Braves!!

Parents, if possible, please call the School Office or send in a note if your child will be signed out before the end of the school day.  All visitors will need to come to the School Office and ring the doorbell and wait outside the gymnasium doors for assistance.  Thank you.

As a reminder, our aftercare program is currently operating at a reduced capacity due to the ongoing pandemic.  While aftercare is available for those who need it, we ask that aftercare be used only by those families who find it absolutely necessary.  Thank you!

We wish to remind families that due to Maryland state law, if a student needs to receive any medication at school, we must have a medication form on file signed by your child’s doctor.  The medication ordered by the doctor should be sent in the original container with the child’s name on it.

Please remember that students who are ill or have a fever are not permitted to attend class and should not be brought to school.  A child who wakes up with a fever and is given Tylenol is still a sick child.  Please do not send your child to school within a 48-hour period of fever, vomiting or diarrhea.  No student with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be allowed to remain in school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
