LIFETOUCH SCHOOL PORTRAITS:  DRESS REQUIREMENTS

Lifetouch will be with us on Tuesday, March 26th for Spring Portraits. Students may wear “Sunday Dress” provided they follow our dress guidelines:

 

Girls:

  1. Modest blouse; no lower than 3 fingers from the collarbone and must have sleeves.
  2. Skirt/dress must come below the knee while sitting and standing; a slit must not come above the knee.
  3. See-through fabric, clingy fabric or excessively tight clothing will not be permitted.
  4. No Tennis shoes; must have stockings or socks on with dress shoes.

Boys:

  1. Shirt must have a collar and should not have any words or pictures.
  2. Pants must be slacks (no jeans), with a belt.
  3. No tennis shoes (secondary only).

Students who do not have a “Sunday Dress” outfit should wear their regular school uniform and bring with them a completed picture day form.  Students whose dress does not meet our guidelines will be sent to the Office and their parents will be called to bring appropriate clothing.

 

CALENDAR CHANGE – SPRING BREAK

We are changing the dates of our Easter Vacation.  Easter Vacation will now begin on Friday, March 29th (Good Friday) and go through Friday, April 5th.  School will resume on Monday, April 8th.

 

EASTER SERVICE & THE HUNT

All families are invited to attend Granite Baptist Church’s Easter Service. If you do not currently have a home church, you are invited to come to Granite Baptist Church at 10:00 am on Easter Sunday, March 31st.  Immediately following the morning service we will have our Easter Egg Hunt for children.

 

SUMMER SCHOOL EXTENSION PROGRAM

Back by popular demand is our Summer School Extension Program for students in K4 through 6th grade. This year our summer program will run from Monday, June 17th – Friday, August 9th.  We have mailed a summer program flyer to all our current families.  Please contact the School Office at 410-761-1118 if you are interested.

 

ENROLLMENT FOR 2024-2025

Enrollment is now open for new families.  We are still enrolling our current families and some classes may fill quickly, so we encourage you to register early.  Reminder: Your enrollment packet is not complete until the registration fee has been paid ($150 for K3 & K4 / $200 for K5-12th).

 

CAFETERIA MENU – NEW ITEMS

We have two new lunch items that we are offering.  On Mondays only we will be selling hot dogs for $2.00 and on Wednesdays only we will be selling cheese pizza for $1.50 per slice.  Orders can be placed online through the FACTS family portal under the “lunch” tab.

 

GBS OPEN HOUSE – THURSDAY, MARCH 14TH

GBS have will be having another Open House on Thursday, March 14th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  We encourage you to come at these times to check out your child’s class for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

FORGOTTEN MATERIALS TABLE

A table has been set up outside the School Office for parents to drop off forgotten materials.  All materials such as homework, books, clothing, projects, lunch boxes, etc. must be labeled with the child’s name and grade level. The front office staff will notify your student’s teacher that the materials are at the front office for the student to pick up.  For the lower grades (K3-K5) one of our teacher aides will deliver the materials to your child’s classroom.

 

SICK POLICY

Please remember that students who are ill or have a fever are not permitted to attend class and should not be brought to school.  A child who wakes up with a fever and is given Tylenol is still a sick child.  Please do not send your child to school within a 24 hour period of fever, vomiting or diarrhea.  No student with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be allowed to remain in school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
