PRESIDENT’S DAY – MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20th
School will be closed on Monday, February 20th in observance of President’s Day.
ENROLLMENT FOR 2023-2024
Enrollment information for the 2023-2024 school year has been mailed to all current Granite families. Registration for current families should be completed by Tuesday, February 28th to ensure your child has a spot in their class for next school year. Some classes may fill quickly, so we encourage you to register early. We will open enrollment for new families beginning March 1st. Reminder: Your enrollment packet is not complete until the registration fee has been paid ($150 for K3 & K4 / $200 for K5-12th).
ABCS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Again this year we will be hosting the Association of Baptist Church Schools regional basketball tournament on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th. Come out and support our girls and boys varsity basketball teams during the tournament. Student spectators must wear their Dennis School Uniform. Let’s go Braves!
GBS OPEN HOUSE – FRIDAY, March 3rd & THURSDAY, March 16th
GBS have will be having Open House on Friday, March 3rd and again on Thursday, March 16th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. We encourage you to come at these times to check out your child’s class for next school year.
STUDENT DRESS FOR ATHLETIC GAMES
Student Spectators (Including Elementary): With the exception of special events, school uniform must be worn for all school activities including after school games, Saturday tournaments and evening events.
If GBS is closed or has a delayed opening, you can be notified the following ways: ParentAlert text messaging; our website www.granitebaptistschool.org; our phone messaging 410-761-1118 option 2 and option 2 again.
We wish to remind families that due to Maryland state law, if a student needs to receive any medication at school, we must have a medication form on file signed by your child’s doctor. The medication ordered by the doctor should be sent in the original container with the child’s name on it.
Parents, if for any reason you need to come to school during the day, please remember to check in at the School Office in the gymnasium. No parent or family member should attempt to approach a classroom before first checking in with the School Office. You must sign your name on our register and receive a visitor pass before proceeding to your child’s classroom. This is part of our school security policy and ensures that we have a record of everyone on our campus at all times. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Please remember that students who are ill or have a fever are not permitted to attend class and should not be brought to school. A child who wakes up with a fever and is given Tylenol is still a sick child. Please do not send your child to school within a 24 hour period of fever, vomiting or diarrhea. No student with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be allowed to remain in school. Thank you for your cooperation.
