There will be no school on Monday, September 5th due to the Labor Day Holiday.  School will resume on Tuesday, September 6th.



Our aftercare program locations are new for this year.  On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the aftercare students will be in Room #7.  On Wednesdays the aftercare will be in the gymnasium and on Fridays the aftercare will be in Room #5.  On sunny days our aftercare program will be outside on the playground.  Signs will be posted on the modular doors to help direct parents when picking up.



Our Fall Revival starts Sunday, September 11th and runs through Wednesday, September 14th.  We want to encourage all of our school families to attend and be blessed by the preaching of Pastor Jeremy Kobernat and Dr. Joe Arthur.  GBS Family Night is Monday evening the 12th at 7 pm and will feature a performance by our junior high and senior high choirs.  All students attending GBS Family Night with at least one parent will receive a “No Homework Pass”.  Any class with 100% of its students attending Family Night (with at least one parent) will receive a pizza party.   All students attending GBS Family Night should be in their Dennis School Uniform or students may wear “Sunday Dress”.


GBC MEN’S STEAK-OUT – Saturday, September 10th

Our fall revival kicks off with our Men’s Steak-Out on Saturday, September 10th at 4:00 pm.  All fathers and their sons are invited to attend this free steak dinner and service to follow.  Childcare will not be provided.  To R.S.V.P. please scan the QR code at the bottom and pre-register for the dinner. Thank you.



If your elementary child participates in our aftercare program, please send them in with an extra water bottle to drink while outside after school. Some students may also be in need of an after-school snack which can be sent in their lunchbox.  All book bags, lunch boxes, jackets, etc. should be labeled with your child’s name.  Thank you!


SECONDARY AFTERCARE (6th – 12th grade)

Secondary students not picked up by 3:15 will need to report to the bleachers for aftercare so they can receive instructions of which aftercare room they should report to.  Secondary students not picked up by 3:30 will need to be signed out and pay the aftercare fee.



Thursday, September 29th and Friday, September 30th all our teachers will be attending our annual Teacher Convention in Pennsylvania.   There will be no school on those days.



Parents, if for any reason you need to come to school during the day, please remember to check in at the School Office in the gymnasium.  No parent or family member should attempt to approach a classroom before first checking in with the School Office.  You must sign your name on our register and receive a visitor pass before proceeding to your child’s classroom.  This is part of our school security policy and ensures that we have a record of everyone on our campus at all times.  Thank you for your cooperation!



Parents, please help us in quickly exiting the children from your car in the morning in order to avoid back-ups on Oakwood Road.  Please have all coats, backpacks and lunches ready and have children exit from the right side of your vehicle.  K3- K5 and 2nd grade parents should use the lane directly in front of the Kindergarten modular (enter parking lot behind the gymnasium). Children 3rd grade and up may be dropped off in front of the church building.  Parents should not exit their car while in the drop-off line.  Thank you!


Parents, if your child has a food allergy we would like you to know that all of our pre-packaged hot foods in the lunchroom have the following on the label: “Food contains wheat, milk, eggs, and soy.”  Our cheeseburgers contain sesame seeds.



School standard dress must be worn for all school activities.  Students are not allowed to change out of their school uniform for any reason other than P.E. or sports practice.  Students who are not leaving school immediately after P.E. or practice must change back into their school uniform for aftercare and/or games.  Important:  Parents please remember that gym shoes for indoor P.E. and for rainy day recess must have a non-marking sole.  We recommend Velcro fastened shoes if your child cannot tie his/her shoes.


Articles in lost and found may only be claimed from 8:00 – 8:15 am, during lunch or from 3:00 – 3:15 pm.  In order to encourage individual responsibility, a fee of $.25 for elementary students and $1.00 for secondary students will be assessed for each claimed item.  Demerits will be given to secondary students that habitually lose articles.


Please remember that students who are ill or have a fever are not permitted to attend class and should not be brought to school.  A child who wakes up with a fever and is given Tylenol is still a sick child.  Please do not send your child to school within a 48 hour period of fever, vomiting or diarrhea.  No student with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be allowed to remain in school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
