Friday, May 13th is GBS Spirit Day! For Spirit Day only all students may wear a GBS Spirit shirt with their regular uniform skirt, pants or jumper. Let’s Go Braves!
REGISTRATION FEE REMINDER
Just a reminder to current GBS families who have not enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year, some of the elementary classes are almost full. A registration fee of $325 per child ($225 for K3/K4) must be paid before your registration can be processed.
AMERICAN CHRISTIAN HONOR SOCIETY
Congratulations to the three students who were inducted into the American Christian Honor Society. Special thanks to Mrs. Berg and Mrs. Barbercheck for organizing the reception.
NO SCHOOL: MEMORIAL DAY
Please note school will be closed Monday, May 30th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
ELEMENTARY FIELD DAY: TUESDAY, MAY 31ST
Our annual elementary field day will be held on Tuesday, May 31st from 9:00 – 3:00 on our GBS soccer field. We need volunteers to help with running the games, timing, preparing the awards and distributing the food. This year we are pleased to offer a Subway box lunch for our students and parent volunteers for the price of $7.00 each. Each box contains a 6” Subway sub with chips, drink and a cookie. Please fill out the attached sheet to indicate what you want your child to eat for lunch. If you would be available and would like to help, please complete the attached form and return it to the School Office no later than Thursday, May 26th.
END-OF-YEAR AWARD CEREMONY – FRIDAY, JUNE 3rd
The elementary award ceremony is at 8:30 am and the secondary award ceremony is at 9:45 am in our church auditorium. Dismissal on Friday, June 3rd will be at 11:00 am. There is no aftercare on the last day of school.
SECONDARY SUMMER TUTORING: 7th – 12th grade
Our secondary English teacher, Ms. Chan, is offering summer tutoring sessions for students who need to make up English credits or who would like review. Please call the School Office for more details if you are interested.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
Parents, please do not attempt to bypass the orange cones once they have been placed. If arriving after 8:14 am, please park out front and walk your child to the School Office. For afternoon dismissal, cars should not pull onto the back parking lot until 2:45 pm for the safety of students walking to the gym and/or School Office. Thank you.
EARLY DISMISSAL POLICY
Parents, if possible, please call the School Office or send in a note if your child will be signed out before the end of the school day. All visitors will need to come to the School Office and ring the doorbell and wait outside the gymnasium doors for assistance. Thank you.
SICK POLICY
According to our policy in the Student Handbook students who are ill or have a fever are not permitted to attend class and should not be brought to school. A child who wakes up with a fever and is given Tylenol is still a sick child. Please do not send your child to school within a 24 hour period of fever, vomiting or diarrhea. No student with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be allowed to remain in school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
